Rams News · SEAN O’BRIEN NEW HEAD GIRLS TRACK COACH


 

The Athletic Department is excited to announce Sean O’Brien as the New Head Girls Track Coach!  Coach O’Brien comes to Rockford from Reeths-Puffer where he was the Head Girls Track coach for 2 years and taught Social Studies at the High School the previous 4 years.

“I am extremely excited and grateful to take over a program with such rich tradition. Coach Veen has done an unbelievable job building this program and taking it to the top. I cannot wait to meet all of the girls and bring a lot of energy and passion to winter workouts and then on to the spring season” said O’Brien.

“I am pleased to help make it possible for Rockford to get a sprint coach of Coach O’Brien’s ability. Our philosophies mesh well and I look forward to working with him” said Associate Head Coach Dave Hodgkinson.  Coach O’Brien attended Ferris State University where he lettered on the football team for four consecutive years.

He was also the Head JV Boys Basketball coach  for 2 years, Assistant Varsity Football Coach for 3 years, and Assistant Boys Varsity track coach for 2 years at Reeths-Puffer.  Coach O’Brien currently is an Assistant Varsity football coach at Rockford and a Social Studies teacher at River Valley Academy.

“He is a driven, organized coach who has quickly developed inspiring relationships with his athletes. Coach O’Brien is a coach that raises the level of energy and commitment on our staff” said Head Football Coach Brent Cummings.
